Spiral wound gaskets are manufactured by alternately winding metal strips and soft filler materials (commonly graphite or PTFE) into a spiral form. An outer reinforcing ring is often added to improve structural stability and ease of installation.
Performance
- Excellent sealing performance under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
- The combination of metallic and non-metallic materials provides high resilience, allowing the gasket to adapt to thermal expansion and pressure fluctuations.
- Suitable for a wide range of media, including steam, oil, gas, and chemicals.
Advantages
- Maintains stable sealing performance over a long period.
- Good adaptability to flange surface roughness and minor deformation.
- Material selection allows flexible adjustment of corrosion resistance and heat resistance.
- Highly reliable under severe conditions such as power plants, chemical plants, and oil refineries.
